Dry Bones In The Desert

Nearly 4 am and all I have to say is that yes, LA still sucks. Malls here close down at 9, or earlier, on Saturdays. Stores shut their doors. Lights go off. The entire town fucking shuts down, it seems. Got a bit of sleep, and now that it's cooled off in here I don't mind the fact that I'm suddenly awake again as much as I minded it yesterday... then again, yesterday the high was 102, at least in theory tomorrow's supposed to be cooler. Still, it's warmer than I like, and I can't seem to stay asleep for long.

I want to draw on someone. The urge is getting to the point of obsession, almost physically painful not to be able to satisfy. This is one of those times when I feel as if my blood has been replaced with ink, and it will just... dry up, stop moving, cease working... if I don't get in some quality ink time. Found a couple of goth 'sites for the LA scene, and I've been poking at them but they all seem slow compared to Portland's scene. No posts for days, sometimes months. Weird. Creepy even, and not in the OoooSpookyGoth sort of creepy, just in the 'no one is alive out there' way which is not particularly good, as drawing on dead people isn't as much fun.

Cell phone's dead again.

We need a new router, or to get the sorta-new router Caleb claims is around somewhere actually attached to the computer in place of the current POS. Wish I knew some good all-night joints to hang out at, y'know, get a soda, something to munch on, sketch for a few hours, peoplewatch. In Portland, there's always places, particularly on weekends. Here? Here, it's like if the sun isn't in the sky making Big Bad Heat, LA just stops existing. The city dies each night, and in the morning a new town stands on the corpse of the old. The streets are skeleton-bones laid bare by moonlight, clothed in tinsel and flesh when the sun rises. I hate this place.

I'm glad we're going home soon. It can't possibly be soon enough.
