Maybe the moose did it?

I'm drunk on a techno playlist and plenty of sleep, there's a cup of water within reach, nothing to do, nowhere to be, so I'm updating. On the 27th I have an appointment with either my urologist or my neurologist - yes, I'm not actually sure which, and will be calling to find out tomorrow - and as that's the day she arrives, this will likely take some sort of trickery. *shruggles*

OryCon... well, it was a 'Con. If you've ever been, you understand, and if you've not been, nothing I'm likely to write will explain it. However, I will try to define it, which is about the best you can expect right now.

First off, it's held in a huge hotel with a lot of rooms set aside as meeting rooms - you know, so businessmen staying there can have their business meeting without even leaving the hotel or so various business people from all over town have a spot to meet at. Fish, the 'Con takes over most, if not all, of those meeting rooms and a fair chunk of the actual hotel rooms too.

Each meeting-room has something different going on: a few are set aside to be hospitality (where ya go to eat and smoke), fan lounge, the art show downstairs, and the panels... my GOD, the panels!

Every hour something new in each of 6-7 rooms, groups of authors and artists and gamers and musicians and publishers and dancers and costumers and... yeah. You get the idea. Each panel is on a different topic, such as "Sex In Sci-Fi Fiction", "Costuming For Cats", "Choosing A Musical Instrument (and what your choice says about you)", etc. Hopefully you get the idea.

There's also the Dealer's Room, where various people come from miles and states away to sell things that only a bunch of fantasy/sci-fi geeks would really want. Corsets, leather gear, antique books, belly-dancing costumes, jewelry, knives, daggers, swords, cloaks, capes, handmade leatherbound blank books... *dissolves into purring*

This year the 'Con was pretty quiet - fewer room parties and fewer people in general, but I'm hoping the next one will reach the level of fanatical insanity that the last two I've been to did. *grin* Then again, this coming year I'm hoping to have at least a few more people in our particular crowd of 'Con-goers.

On to other news, then. Caleb did indeed come up here, arriving last Tuesday (I think) and leaving yesterday (I know). Missing him already, missing him a lot, but he's promised to start getting on his employers to find out about health-care and dammit, I Want Everthing To Work Out! *pokes at the universe* Cooperate!

Ehh.

I've been taking meds religiously but I'm starting to get the twitch-and-sparkle that leaves me a tad nervous. *shrugs* I'm also, I've noticed, trying to draw the nifty fiction bits out of my writing and honestly, I don't think I like my subconscious trying to do that. It's irritating.

Then again, I've a bottle of Absinthe, a tiny bottle of Green Dragon, and far too much medication. *blinks* I suspect that tonight might be pleasurable... although actually, I might do better to wait until the weekend. *blinks again* Dude, what the fuck is this responsibility doing here? Who spilled this? I REFUSE to mop this up, it's all icky and it's all over my mental walls! *bats at the gooey substance, then eeks* Dammit, it's on my FINGERS now!

*runs and hides*
