The only abortion clinic I trust is the Downtown Women's Center; they've always been both prompt and caring, not too nosey, VERY gentle, and OHP completely covers treatment there. The staff is VERY respectful. Also, because they are in a large set of offices, they are more discreet and they don't have the stupid picket-people that some of the other abortion clinics here in Portland do.

I believe their full-sedation procedures are done on either Tuesdays or Thursdays - you go in the day before for a pre-op and then they do the actual procedure the next day, whether it's full or partial sedation. The full-sedation procedure takes less than an hour from the time they knock you out to the time you're ready to go home. I don't know how long the partial takes, as I have always done full-sedation.

If you come into Portland, the OHP offices are capable of issuing you an emergency card that is enough to provide proof of coverage for the abortion procedure. In order to get this emergency card you must have proof of pregnancy (there are a lot of free clinics that can give you this, just taking a home test isn't enough), you must qualify for OHP (no rich folks here), and you must have a scheduled appointment at the clinic if possible.

I don't know if offices in other cities provide the same emergency card; I suspect they do but I am only certain of the offices in Portland, Gresham, and Beaverton.

The DTWC is located in (duh) downtown Portland, a few blocks away from the Maxx. There is plenty of parking nearby, and it's easy to find.
