What gives other people the right to comment on the lives of perfect strangers, to put in their two cents and expect it to be listened to? Simple.

We gave 'em the means to do so.

If you don't want strangers reading your life... don't write it. If you don't want them telling you their opinions... don't put up a guestbook. Don't link your email. Or don't read it, if you do.

See, this is something I actually feel pretty strongly on - I DO reserve the right not to talk to people about what I write... but because I post it publically, I know and accept that it will be read, that other people will have opinions that don't match mine, and that they will at times tell me these opinions.

And that's ok with me.

I value the input of others... I know that often, I'm pretty blind to my own faults and to what's going on in my own life. There are times when, if not for the advice and opinions of friends and even perfect strangers, I might have made some pretty terrible mistakes... and I'm glad the advice was there.

No, I may not always want to talk about this stuff... but... if I didn't think that at some point, maybe, just MAYBE, I should talk about it... it wouldn't be here.

I guess that's all I'm saying - that it is YOU who gives people the right to comment on what you're saying and doing and writing... because you wrote it publically, you gave them the means to talk to you, to interact with you.

And thank you for the good word regarding the graphics... I'm pretty happy with them too, yes. *grins* I like the color scheme... it's nice and calm. Not busy. Just... relaxed, and slightly archaic, a hint of alchemy and aged silver.
