The archive system is being evil - just ignore it for the moment. Hopefully Andrew will write back and/or fix it... I want my archive page to work again!

I've been reading quite a few diaries lately. Signing guestbooks, sometimes... sometimes, just sending off a short email. I like what I read - my favorites list is made up of the people whose lives I want to peer into, not because I can or can't see them, not because I do or don't know them, but because in some way they are.... hm.

I want to say 'special', but it's been overused. Unique is too pretentious. They are just people whose lives in some way either reflect, affect, or enhance my days. It changes me to read them.

No, the list isn't comprehensive. There's a few diaries that I keep track of that aren't on it. Daris is one... Seit is another... Rob's diary, several poetry collections, Haikuboy... there's quite a few I check on.

Just for the moment, though, there's a couple I want to point out. Diaries that I think deserve to be attended. Not merely read, these aren't trashy novels or anything... but people whose stories, whose lives, deserve a bit more respect and attention than they are getting.

Her diary has gotten mentioned before. She's not leading an easy life. She's on hiatus right now, I don't know if she plans to return to writing or not. I hope so. She's got a slate grey life and she really doesn't deserve it. I remember being her.

This original gal is someone else worth reading. I know her diary's got a bit of a following already so I might be preaching to the choir, but really. She deals with more health problems than I do, and that is saying quite a bit.

His diary. Yeah, he's a friend. And no, he doesn't update often enough. But when he does, every now and then there's something in it that is beautiful beyond words. He honestly needs to be read, and if you're a bisexual pagan BDSM chickie in Oregon... well, actually, he's prob'ly already met you. He seems to attract us.

A submissive girl in another country is another one of my new regular reads. Watching her struggle to keep her sanity, her health, the love of her Master, and her family... it's an eye-opener. She's a fairly skilled writer, and if she writes any stories I would LOVE to read them. I've yet to go through an entry of hers without not only admiring the spirit behind it but the simple flow of her writing style.

And just for the humor of it, check out this nutty lass. Read through a few of her past entries and you'll cheer right up. She's improved quite a few of my days just because she managed to make me laugh without even meeting me or knowing me at all. *grin*

So that's about it... I could go on. Could give you reasons to read each diary I do. Could try to change your life the same way mine has been changed. I'd rather not... if you have the time, if you maybe have even a moment to spare, check out these wonderful people. Read them, if you can. Savor them.

They deserve it.
