My GODS, Peter Pan.
The movie. Live action, I know it looks corny on the box. In the previews. Most of you haven't seen it, I'll bet - I only got around to watching it 'cos I'd heard it was vaguely pretty and slash-worthy (as in the style of fanfiction).
I am now going to devote a signifigant amount of my attention to tracking the now 15-year-old actor who played Peter Pan and the fellow who played Hook happens to be Lucious... err... Ahem. Lucius Malfoy. *grins* Peter Pan.
This is officially the best movie I've watched in months. Seriously, unutterably, indescribably beautiful. Cuttingly-sharp dialogue, incredibly powerful acting, and enough talent to make you - or at least me - have to lift your jaw back off the floor every five minutes. I cannot even begin to stress how important this movie now is. Right now, right here, someone captured a fragment of my dreams onscreen. This goes on the same list as 'Legend' and 'Labrynth' and 'Willow'. This is up there with the Harry Potter flicks. This...
...Becca. Kadin. Nick. Ryan. Nreshan. Grr. Scott - both of you. Boo. Talia. Angel. Michael. Alex.
Watch this movie.
Spend an hour and a bit in a realm where I know you'll think of me. Of daydreams. Of legends and fairy stories and the darkest of desires, of everything that makes life worth living.
Please. Some of you... hell, some of you won't even read this. Maybe the word will go out anyway, maybe somehow you'll see it, maybe somehow you'll find yourself staring at a screen. Maybe you'll remember for a moment why sometimes you stare at the stars and feel as if you know them.
There are other things I could be, should be, eventually will write about. There are certainly questions people have asked and important news and so many different bits of life that would be more 'useful' to write about.
Personally, I think 'useful' can go hang. I'll be happier with 'imaginative' and 'shiny' and 'satao' and 'epeta' and 'alive' and 'real' and...
...and this moment, with my eyes still sparkling from afterimages and fairy dust, is one of those times when I cannot write enough.
If you are willing to take movie advice from a demented, perverted, and utterly insane femme, go watch this.
I don't think you'll regret it.
I know I don't.
