In a few hours... ok, six, that's not exactly a FEW, but still... in a few hours, Dashwood will be back online. He'll be his usual self, I hope, not dead tired - when he was online earlier it was in a desperate attempt to keep awake, he'd promised someone he would write them a computer pamphlet of some sort, and the deadline had hit. *grins*

It was fun, helping him keep his eyes open.

I've got lots of graphics I need to work on. Most notably, those for Fox and his site, they are driving me Up A Wall. I've got easily twenty different ideas, some of which would be PERFECT but I'm damned if I can get them to turn out right, some of which are turning out quite nicely but are exactly NOT what he needs... I'm thinking of asking Deb to do some panel sketches for me. After all, she's officially a part of Jaxworks and of Flying Party too, no reason not to draw on her skills, neh?

My biggest problem right now is finding a cohesive theme. I can think of things that would work wonderfully on x page or y page, but tying them all together is proving quite difficult.

For example, this site is going to have weblogs (no, Andrew, not diaries, this is a BDSM site - trust me, there actually is a difference. I wouldn't work for your competition, I like D-land too much. *grins*) and I think that the weblog background should be some sort of faded vellum or soft paper, the overall goal to make it look almost bookish, with steel nameplates and bindings. I think I can carry the nameplates and bindings back over to the rest of the site, have the intro page done on leather with steel/metal fastenings and so forth for the menu and link graphics, have the calender's background and graphics done in paper and steel, etc. Problem is, none of the papers I've tried have come out right, and I'll be damned if I can pull up any GOOD bluesteel graphics out of this machine.

So I'm going to get Deb to freesketch some spidery, old-fashioned bookplates and hinges and cornerbinders and a few screws and bolts... maybe some nice gems as well... then use Photoshop, my favorite toy, to turn them into proper metals and gems, making it all pretty. The paper? THAT I know I can get right without a base image, it's just going to take more tweaking.

Caleb's doing a lot more programming, and he's written me up a lovely retort to the gays-vs-bible debate that's been sprawling over several sites. I'm looking forward to posting it. *grin*

Onward! ...as the lasses at oddgoogle seem to say so often.
