Erm... don't ask. I had an urge. It will be elsewhere eventually, or gone alltogether... but for now... *shrug* ...why not?--- What are you? This boy is a slave. What is a slave? A slave is one who serves his owner in whatever way she desires. - Prounouns are, of course, to be adjusted according to the sex of the slave and his/her owner. Are you a slave? (name, or this boy) is a slave. - This is one of the few times when a proper name is allowable rather than vague pronouns. Who is your Master/Mistress? There are actually two different answers for this, depending on whether or not a slave is being allowed to directly address his owner. The first assumes he is, the second assumes he is not. - You are, (owner's name)-my-Master/Mistress. - This slave belongs to (owner's name). What is a displeasing slave? One who does not learn his place, one who disobeys, one who does not follow the wishes of his owner. What is the punishment for such a slave? A beating, a branding, or banishment. - There is a second possible answer, "Whatever you/Master/Mistress wishes," but it is infrequently used, often heard only from a slave with a lovebond to his owner. What is your name? This slave is called (name). - This slave has no name. What is your place? Wherever you choose to put this slave, Master/Mistress. Do you have any right to the name you bear? This slave owns nothing, holds nothing, deserves nothing. - This slave has no right to a name. - The choice of answer here depends on the owner's preference, of course. A slave may find that the owner's preference changes daily. What am I to you? You are my life. - Some versions replace 'life' with 'existance', but the essence of it is simple, meant to remind a slave that their entire focus, their reason for waking up each morning, is their owner.
