Life's Little Pleasures

Sometimes it surprises me when I sit back, realizing just how intently I had been focused on one aspect of something, one detail, and that at the same time I could care less about details that other people would consider of the utmost importance. I have my own set of priorities; trying to pay attention to what someone else might think is the Key To It All really doesn't do me or anyone else any good if I view it as unimportant.

The problem with this is that because I look so intently at such odd details, quite often the people involved therein aren't expecting it, or don't know how to react to it, or fall short simply because they have no way of knowing what it is I expect. After enough time, enough talking, enough training, enough interaction, some of them start to get the picture.

And some of them, once they start to get it, pick it up with surprising speed.

No, this doesn't really relate to anything that most people are aware of right now, just one detail involving one other person who learns damned quick in some ways.

I'm going to sit here and purr for a while.
