Worse... Or Better?

Hey, mister...
...it's not what you did, it's not what you didn't...

So it seems I'll be headed down to the coast for a few days. My mom just called to see if I was going to Cambor's today for my I.V. treatment - yes, I'm fairly sure my mom is actively in denial regarding the two MEDICALLY-DIAGNOSED seizures I've managed to have - and suggested I go to the coast for a day or two to help my father with their computer. *twitch*

In all seriousness, I know I'm going to enjoy being one of the only computer-literate people on the Entire F'ing Coast. Must remember to pack soap and deodorant and shampoo that I'm NOT allergic to.

Oh, and musically of late I've been re-obsessing over Donna Lewis. And a LOT of other songs from way back when.

Hackers soundtrack. The Craft soundtrack. Donna Lewis' song "I Love You (always forever)". Batman Forever. Butthole Surfers. The Crow. Portishead. Sneaker Pimps.

All the songs that bring back warm summer days, almost-abandoned bike trails, the feel of a hundred thousand tiny flowers crushed underneath us... the feel of a knifeblade slipping across my skin for the first time, at least for the first time where it wasn't meant to hurt... stolen ice cream, stolen kippers, stolen gum, stolen kisses... driving up mile after mile because the only life I had and the only life I wanted all converged on the sprawl of a college in the hills, computer classrooms and forgotten tests, the realization that love IS worth going for... climbing the Astor Column, playing on the sand at the beach only a few blocks from my house...

...yeah, I have a lot of good memories. And this, oh my friends, is why I am so very not going off the antidepressant unless and until I HAVE to. I've spent too much of my life wrapped in blackness, and I want to come out and feel the sun. Metaphorically, anyway: the antidepressants and anti-seizure meds make me hypersensative to sunlight, and when you throw in the antibiotic I REALLY can't bear direct sunlight for more than a few minutes without getting a rash and fainting spells.

And yes, I'm still enough of a gaming geek that the last line there has me thinking of a Ring Of Spell Storing... once activated, a pretty feminine voice chants "S T O R I N G. Storing."

*poings off to try calling the doctor again*
