...hard question.

I could go with 'play nice' but that's what I want the world to DO... they already know they should, they just don't care.

I could go with 'hey, I'm here' but there's a LOT of people out there that I don't really want to know, and I don't want them to know about me.

I don't have any seriously important religious message, not one that I'm 100% sure of, anyway.

I don't have any major announcements. Nothing that couldn't keep.

I guess if I could let the world know one thing, it would be this:

Hey, World! Listen up! Somewhere in the midst of you there's a girl, and she's not always happy, but sometimes she is. Her life isn't easy but with the help of other people and with her own will and imagination, she gets through it.

She's got friends, and they are happy sometimes too. She's got people who care about her and people who hate her and people who ignore her, and all of them have lives as well. She's got lovers. Pals. Teachers. Students.

She exists. She's really incredibly important, not 'cos she does anything wonderful or is anything special, but JUST BECAUSE SHE EXISTS. She exists and so maybe, sometimes, the world is a bit better place.

And for all you know, she's the girl standing next to you, the girl you pass in school, your co-worker, your sister, your mother, your friend...

So maybe you should treat every girl as if they are special, 'cos guess what? You might be right. And if you start treating every girl like they are special, you might help some of them BE special. You might make the world a better place too.

And the girl who exists will thank you... if she knows you... and maybe even if she doesn't. If you believe in her, she'll believe in you.

And she says 'thank you' for believing in her. And for caring. And for existing... 'cos you exist too. Just like she does.
